I was looking for edible rose petals, and I really loved the result. You have to take special care to sprinkle the powdered sugar evenly so that they are very nice rose petals when they dry completely.
I think you can use them for some very fancy dark chocolate tarts, or a rose cake like the one I made especially for these rose petals.
The contrast of flavors and colors goes very well with them, for example dark chocolate, white chocolate, red mirror glaze … etc. I leave it to your imagination.
How to Make Crystallized Rose Petals for your cakes?
You need these ingredients:
1 edible rose
1 brush
1 egg white
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
Your blender.
2 small containers
1 round plate
First, add the sugar to your blender, blend until the sugar is completely powdered. Set aside in one of the small containers.
Add the egg white into the other small container.
Separate all the rose petals and put them on the plate.
With the brush, smear an egg white petal and then sprinkle with the powdered sugar, let it dry…
It is enough to dry for around 3 or 4 hours.
