Tres Leches Cake Recipe

For Sponge Cake

6 eggs M
1 cup + 1 TBSP all purpose flour
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

For tres leches topping

Sweetened condensed milk, canned
Evaporated milk, canned
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup brandy

For whipped cream

3 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract



Let’s make the cake: Preheat oven in 220 degrees, butter and flour an 24 cm round cake pan.


In a stand mixer, place the eggs and sugar until fluffy (about 10 minutes in medium-high speed).


Add the flour on top of the egg mixture, a little at a time, and fold it gently at low speed.


Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.


Let cool for at least one night, you can make the sponge cake one night before making the cake.


In a bowl, mix the three milks, the brandy and vanilla extract. Set aside.


30 minutes before decorating the cake, freeze the mixing bowl.


Take the bowl out of the freezer and pour in the heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla extract.


Beat on high speed until cream forms peaks.


Cut the sponge cake in 3 levels, in a round plate add a level of the sponge cake, pour the tres leches mixture and whipped cream on top. So on until finishing completely decorating the cake with whipped cream.


You can add ground cinnamon on top of the decorated cake.


When serving, you can pour the remaining tres leches mixture into each slice cake.
