Homemade Pork Carnitas
This is an authentic recipe for homemade carnitas in the Mexican style. It is delicious, crunchy and full of flavor. Ideal for making tacos and preparing my guacamole salsa for tacos served with cilantro, onion and lemon.

Ingredients
For carnitas seasoning
2 tbsp paprika
2 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp black pepper, ground
2 tbsp dried oregano
2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp salt
For carnitas
4 pounds pork shoulder, boneless
1 or 2 cups beef broth, pork broth
Cannola oil
For tacos
2 pounds tortillas
Onion, finely chopped
Cilantro, finely chopped

Guacamole salsa for tacos
Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk all ingredients for seasoning. Set aside.

In a large glass bowl, add pork, and season with carnitas seasoning.
Rest the meat for 1 hour.

In a heavy pan, at medium flame heat 1 cup oil.

Add the meat, until browned.

Low the flame, and pour 1 cup broth and cover.

Cook, stirring once every 15 mins, for two hours, if is necessary pour 1 cup more the broth.

When meat until done, shred with a fork

You can serve in tacos, with guacamole, pico de gallo, onion, cilantro…
